SUMMARY:How to Break in a Glove
DESCRIPTION:Presented by City Theatre and Adrienne Arsht Center by Chris Anthony Ferrer \nFamily isn’t always an easy fit. \nIn 1999 Miami\, an 11-year-old boy clings to the fractured pieces of his Cuban-American family: an iron-willed grandfather\, a devoted but weary grandmother\, a father fighting for relevance and a mother torn between rebellion and responsibility. When a night of crisis unearths buried tensions\, love and survival collide in a battle for connection\, legacy and the desperate need to belong. As with a new baseball glove\, they must break in their bonds\, stretching\, softening and learning to hold on before it’s too late. \nKick off opening night with a retro\, Miami-inspired preshow party on Friday\, February 6! Enjoy throwback DJ tunes\, classic Cuban flavors available for purchase from the Cuban Guys and a can’t-miss photo moment. \nShowings at 2:30pm and 7:30pm.

SUMMARY:Bella! Q&A with director Jeff L. Lieberman
DESCRIPTION:As Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosi lead the nation\, they follow a trail blazed by pioneers like Bella Abzug. In 1970\, Abzug challenged a male-dominated political system\, running a grassroots Manhattan campaign that carried her to Congress. With her trademark hat and Bronx swagger\, she fought for women’s financial rights\, LGBTQ equality\, and inclusive leadership. Using rare home movies\, audio diaries\, and newly discovered footage\, Bella! captures a gritty\, colorful era—and one woman’s sacrifice for future generations. Includes a post-screening Q&A with director Jeff L. Lieberman.
