SUMMARY:Miami City Ballet: American Rhythms
DESCRIPTION:Miami City Ballet opens its 2026-27 season with a sparkling bill that weaves together classical brilliance\, jazzy elegance and an electrifying world premiere. \nThe program kicks off with George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante\, a burst of technical precision and youthful exuberance that defined his neoclassical style. \nThen follows a world premiere by former MCB principal dancer Patricia Delgado\, marking a homecoming for an artist whose career is defined by her highly tuned musicality. \nThe company premiere of Jerome Robbins’ seminal work N.Y. Export: Opus Jazz ends the show with a bang. It infuses the improvisational spirit of American jazz into classic ballet vocabulary.

SUMMARY:Art Talk: Masterpieces from the Museum Berggruen
DESCRIPTION:For more than four decades\, European art collector and dealer Heinz Berggruen (1914–2007) assembled one of the most important private collections of twentieth-century European modern art. During this time\, he operated a Parisian gallery and became known for his close relationship with Pablo Picasso. Today\, his legacy endures through Berlin’s Museum Berggruen\, the public institution that houses the collection he built. Showcasing approximately 100 works by artists such as Alberto Giacometti\, Paul Klee\, Henri Matisse\, and Picasso\, Picasso–Klee–Matisse: Masterpieces from the Museum Berggruen invites viewers to encounter Berggruen’s life and vision through a remarkable collection shaped by personal relationships with artists and a deep commitment to modern art. \nThe exhibition traces the development of early modernism through evolving explorations of color\, abstraction\, and figuration\, together with the emergence of Cubism. It foregrounds the extensive careers of Picasso and Klee\, highlights Matisse’s celebrated cut-outs\, and features Giacometti’s gaunt\, elongated sculptures. These works are presented alongside paintings and drawings by other influential artists\, including Paul Cézanne and Georges Braque. Organized around themes such as still lifes\, interiors\, portraiture\, and landscapes\, the exhibition reflects the breadth of Berggruen’s collection across painting\, watercolor\, drawing\, and sculpture.
